Position Description

The President is the Chief Executive of the OSHNA and as such, shall enforce all the provisions and purposes thereof. The President serves a 1- year term.

Position Description

The Past-President serves for a 1-year term in an advisory role to the organization.


President-Elect

Position Description

The President-Elect performs the duties of the President in his/her absence. The President-Elect serves a 1- year term followed by a 1-year term as President, followed by a 1-year term as Past-President.

The Secretary serves a 2-year term and records the minutes of all meetings of the General Membership and the Board of Directors.


Position Description

The Treasurer serves a 2-year term and must have SOFA status if required by the current banking establishment. The Treasurer oversees and disburses the funds of the organization as approved by the Board and/or General Membership.

Technology Chair

Position Description

The Information Technology Officer is appointed to a 1-year term. He or she shall determine content and appearance of the OSHNA website with approval from the OSHNA President.


Professional Development

Position Description

The Professional Development Officer is appointed to a 1-year term and performs the following duties: Secures Continuing Nurse Education (CNE) for General Membership, coordinates with President-Elect and various colleges and universities to ensure that graduate credits are available to participants of educational offerings sponsored by OSHNA, and coordinates with professional nursing organizations to facilitate availability of CNE at annual conferences.

Membership Chair

Position Description

The Membership Services Officer is appointed to a 1-year term and performs the following duties:

  1. Active recruitment of new members and assist in maintaining current membership.
  2. Maintains and posts a monthly updated membership listing to Board of Directors and Area Liaisons.
  3. Coordinates with the NASN Director to ensure that joint NASN/OSHNA membership applications are made available to all potential new members.
  4. Sends out renewal notices to members 30 days before their expiration date.

Parliamentarian

VACANT

Position Description

The Parliamentarian is appointed for a 1-year term and attends all Board meetings as a non-voting member and may cast a vote only when a secret ballot is taken. Assures that all meetings are conducted IAW Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised in Brief, as long as said procedures do not conflict with OSHNA Constitution and Bylaws.

Position Description

The NASN Director is appointed by the Board to a 4-year term. Criterion for this position includes previously serving as a member of the Board. The Director reports directly to the President.
